The streets were wet from light rain earlier in the day and intermittent sprinkles were occurring. No one else showed up so I decided I would skate to Sac State. I went down S St. to 8th St, 8th St. to L St. and L down to 19th where I cut back north to K St. and took K down to Alhambra. I took L St. to 53rd and then connected with M St. For the wet conditions M St. has really nice asphalt. Smooth skating down to 62nd. Along the way I stopped at 42nd St. They still had their lighting display on with light crossing over the street in a canopy. See 42nd Street Lights photo. I took 62nd over to Elvas and then the CSUS bike path connection over to the parking structure. Using my camera's timer I took my smiling photo. See SantaSkater2 photo. I returned to 4th and S the same route except, instead K St, I took Capitol. Other than the wet streets (skating on outside edges is required and short push strokes to keep from sliding out) the weather was okay -- slightly cool with a light breeze. This is a 12 mile loop. Lots of slippery fun. Hope to see you and the rest of the group next week. Keep Skating! Brian |
